Kapunda Museum

Description

Take a step back to another era when you enter Kapunda's award winning Museum, with over 11,000 square feet of undercover display area.

The museum covers every facet of Kapunda's fascinating history.

The main bulding has two floors depicting the social and commercial history of Kapunda. This is complimented by an extensive display of agricultural machinery with motor pavilion displaying amongst other motoring memorabilia, Kapunda's old fire engine and ambulance.

The Hawke Gallery commemorates the engineering firm founded in 1857 by Henry Binney Hawke. Downstairs view the story of the Kapunda ships at sea. Old machinery of all kinds can be found here

Recognised as one of the finest Folk Museums, this award winning museum is housed in a magnificent Romanesque building built in 1866 as a Baptist Church.  A 'must see'.
